Let's talk about... 


What do you mean by a Project?

A project is a temporary endeavor or a task you do to create something new or achieve a goal.

It consists of:

  • A start and an end.
  • Specific goals or results.
  • Scope, Budget and Timelines.
  • Involves planning, resources, teamwork, stakeholder engagement.

Think of it as different from your everyday routine" that you work on for a specific outcome.


Let's talk about few examples to understand from daily routine and from business point.

Daily Life Examples

1. Planning a Birthday Party

Goal: Celebrate someone’s birthday.

Start & End: Planning starts weeks before, ends after the party.

Tasks: Book venue, invite people, buy cake, decorate.

Outcome: A successful party.


2. Renovating Your Kitchen

Goal: Make your kitchen look better or work better.

Start & End: Starts when you plan, ends when it's done.

Tasks: Hire workers, buy materials, design the space.

Outcome: A new kitchen.


3. Planning a Vacation

Goal: Go on a trip and have fun.

Start & End: Starts when you decide where to go, ends when you come back.

Tasks: Book flights, hotels, plan activities.

Outcome: A fun and relaxing vacation.


Business Examples

1. Launching a New Product

Goal: Create and sell something new.

Start & End: Starts with an idea, ends with the product in the market.

Tasks: Research, design, manufacturing, marketing.

Outcome: A new product people can buy.


2. Building a Website

Goal: Have a website for your business.

Start & End: Starts with planning, ends when the website is live.

Tasks: Hire a designer, write content, test the site.

Outcome: A working website that helps attract customers.


3. Organizing a Company Event

Goal: Have an event like a conference or a company party.

Start & End: Starts with planning, ends after the event.

Tasks: Find a location, invite people, arrange food and entertainment.

Outcome: A successful event.


Project vs Routine Work

Routine Work: Things you do over and over, like answering emails or opening the shop every morning etc.

Project Work: Something unique, like remodeling your store or launching a new product line.
